Kibera tours
Would you like to join us on a tour to Kibera?
Kibera, The biggest slum in East-Africa;
Kibera, The friendliest slum in the world.
Our Dutch-Kenyan organisation “Kibera Tours“ would like to welcome you to a tour in Kibera. Our guides Martin and Freddy, born and living in Kibera, will show you Kibera, the 'city of hope', as it is and will focus on the positive aspects of Kibera.
You 'll experience that the people of Kibera are friendly towards visitors and you'll certainly feel welcome. A security-guard, well-known in Kibera, will come with you on the tour to make you feel even more safe.
What will we visit:
- An orphanage/school built by 'mama Tunza'. Meet this impressive woman and look at her work in the childrens home
- A bead factory: in Kibera everything is being reused and so are also the bones from the butcher. See how these bones turn into beads;
- a typical Kibera-house. Feel welcome in one of the houses in Kibera and ask your questions about the day-to-day live in Kibera;
- the biogas center: a fantastic view over Kibera and picture-point. You can see that also human waste is not wasted here;
- A jewellery workshop: a project where beads turn into beautiful jewellery to support the women from Kibera;
-
And much more...
